Do they abandon this concept with running back motioning out of the backfield? Or how would it work with running back motion?

That person would assume the flat responsibility. The "number system" still applies.

Is the CB on the bottom treating the vertical as a wheel, is that why he's carrying the vertical?

Yes, which is what you'd want in that technique. If no flat threat, sink with the vertical. Helps not to undress the Safety.

This is great stuff. What if post-motion the back is lined up on the QBs right. Now the strength is opposite the crossing safety (#31) .. How then would our safeties react? Same? Simple as switching the LB with 3up responsibility ?

Passing strength is usually determined by speed, not necessarily the RB. It can still effect the drop of the Mike & where he opens to
